What should you look for when buying a Wedding Band?
There are four things you should look for while buying diamonds – carats, clarity, colour and cut. But have you given a thought to wedding bands? We agree that wedding bands are not going to be the costliest wedding purchase for you and that’s why you do not wish to spend a lot of time finding out more about the desired wedding band. But it is one item which you will be using on every day basis whereas other items such as engagement ring will not be used that often.
Ask yourself some questions while buying your wedding band:
1.What kind of wedding band you prefer- design wedding band, plain wedding band or traditional?
2.Do you prefer a branded wedding band or you would like to reduce costs by opting for the same design minus the brand name?
3.What kind of pricing of wedding band you are looking at?

If you prefer a traditional wedding band it may cost you between $100 -$150. For a high quality designer wedding band you may have to spend between $300 – $425. For a branded wedding band the price will be in the range of $700 -$1200. You need to remember though, the idea of paying more for a branded wedding band will not appear very smart when you can buy the same item minus the brand name.
Two Tone, White gold or Yellow Gold
While selecting the metal type or colour of your wedding band you would like to consider a few points, though it still remains a personal choice. White gold is suitable for those who are not heavily into jewelry or those who would like to appear subtle. While gold also comes under the current trend though yellow gold has still not loss its popularity yet. Again, fashion becomes secondary because you should only choose what you will be comfortable wearing for a long time. Two tone wedding bands are another option worth looking at. These are an excellent mix of rich and subtle tones. Since you are getting the look of both white and yellow gold colours, you can match any other jewelries with your wedding band. On the other hand if you are buying while gold band, the future jewellery you are going to buy will force you to buy mostly white gold. The same logic applies to wearing yellow gold wedding bands. Two tones wedding bands, on the other hand, add versatility to your jewellery collection.
Branded wedding bands
All wedding bands available in the market are not designer name wedding bands but their quality is matching to the best. The difference between the two is the price (mostly). Branded wedding band costs between $700-$1200; whereas the generic versions cost between $300-$425.
Design bands
While choosing design bands, personal choice is something that matters a lot. Only practical consideration is that fashions are fleeting trends but you will be left with your wedding band for many years after your marriage. You would like to choose hammered design bands if you use hands a lot such as in construction work or other jobs very taxing for your hands.
